Hospitality House Inc., of Maine, is one of the few groups to apply the 1997 United Nations Formula to ending WORLD POVERTY.

They are utilizing a small. start up grant awarded them by the Haymarket peoples fund; in Boston.

This grant allows the first steps to implementing The UN's eminent thinkers findings that U.S. poverty, can be overcome in the first decade of the new century, when three details are adhered to.

1) Us Poor Ourselves Speak OuT

    2) A LIVABLE WAGE is Paid to ALL

  • 3) Women achieve equality.

THE FIRST STEP To Ending Economic DISTRESS, IS TO CHANGE ATTITUDES TOWARD POVERTY.

Since the dawn of personkind, Humans thought there only TWO ANSWERS To the Riddle of Economic lack.

1) Either dole out meager funds to some, and let them clamor to obtain solvency. or

2) Ignore the millions who do not have enough to eat.

So the financially beleaguered Hospitality House Inc. Is Calling for Groups who wants NEW Facts on ending the Human Waste of Poverty.

The Poor themselves will tell their stories.. in their OWN WORDS.

They are the majority. The people from the Haymarket Peoples Fund are VISIONARIES. They see this educational effort will propel a nation wide movement to Address the ROOT CAUSES of Poverty.

Us poor lacking funds. Many are still giving to a few in hopes that ALL will Escape Poverty.

Hospitality House inc. submitted a request to the Congress to Have May 1 1999 be the first of an annual National Economic Freedom Day.

While the declarations chances of passing is next to null. As Economic freedom day would be the first holiday for those of us at the bottom of the ladder.

It places our US Lawmakers on notice that  Us poor will no longer suffer in silence. That dispute the odds we without tools, made it ANOTHER YEAR.

Its a holiday at which a national journalism award will be given, to mainstream journalist who wrote one of the best articles exposing aspects of poverty. It is a time to say we the resource lacking, just as important as any other human being.

Even If this declaration fails US Lawmakers We the Poor will Start this soon to be tradition.

Other advocates across the country are using the first week in May to call out for Humane application of WELFARE.

This is one aspect of the bigger picture of poverty.  Nationally 65% of us poor, are The WORKING POOR.

This factor tells the thinking that Minimum wages DO NOT TAKE people OUT of Lack. We need LIVABLE wages.

Each year, over our great land, a hundred of thousands of people are DENIED AID which they 're qualified for, and entitled to receive.


Some are denied by design. As with HUD only allotting a fraction of the real cost of the total Affordable housing required to house every who qualifies.

The other method is denial by MISAPPLICATION OF LAW. This diminishes the rights of even rich citizens To have Laws Applied Fairly and Equally. Here in Maine General Assistance, ignore "EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE LAWS" to save funds in 1993 they were passed so someone slightly above the very low, income guidelines with an eviction notice or, in about to be without any of lives basics, could be assisted.

This Forum will be used to offset inaccurate information slung against us poor. We envision EXPOSING the truth, to remove one ' obstacle of the horrendous stereotypes of those who lack funds to pay the rent.

People will ascertain that the majority of us financially distressed are hard working good people! Us poor, are people Not paid a livable wage.

Once educated, as to facts that poverty can be cured, attitudes can change. It would take a few years and 2/10s of 1% of the worlds resource. Taxpayers and business's would benefit.

By eliminating poverty, business would have a new market source to tap into the millions the poor now have. By wisely addressing abject lack, taxpayers would be hit for less in Health Care Costs.

Studies prove people care. So the next step will be our society calling for an end to poverty.

The United Nations own report 1997; observes, Overcoming poverty completely - will accomplished when the poor themselves speak out on their own behalf. As well as creating equality for women and all being paid a livable wage.

When possible, in Project End Poverty, us poor themselves, will tell our own story in our own words. The program coordinator will accompany them, also lives below poverty level. She will have data to document, this is Not just one good poor folk out of many bad ones. There are many good folks who lack cash, and a few bad.

Community issues, as Health, homelessness, hunger, violence are all increased by poverty. These cost the rank and file, money or The results of poverty can lessen the quality of life, for people of all incomes.

As when an upper middle class LA family, took a wrong turn; wandering into gangland, their child dying by a stray bullet. Are aim is to have the elderly, gay. Disabled, Children, family groups, and labor unions join us.
